DLPD8532 Elvis Wesley Moose - Julie Nagle - 27 July
Christmas was the theme for our design team challenge and these Super Sized Christmas Tag Cards seemed like the perfect project. The versatility of these rustic but fun-looking tags will help you tag a gift, tag a bottle of wine, or simply send out as a Christmas card. The tag itself has a rustic wintery theme featuring Elvis Wesley Moose, some perfectly plaid patterned paper, a sled full of Christmas gifts, and even some splattered snow. “Have the Moose Wonderful Holiday” sentiment was one of many festive sentiments included in this fabulously fun download of Christmas themed products from PolkaDoodles.

Fall is just around the corner, and this super cute crow (Freddy Fox) leaning on a overflowing basket of crisp, juicy harvest apples has “Fallen for You”. This charming scene is set against an ink blended background in warm autumn shades of green, yellow, and orange. The images were colored using Copic Markers however the designs are also available pre colored. There are many fun images to be found in the Autumn/Fall digi stamps that can be used as focal images or background filler. WSSDG18 Sandcastle - Julie Nagle - 24 August 2024
This week’s Design Team Challenge was to create a card using an object from PolkaDoodles digital images to create a September Birthday Card. So many options - whatever would I choose?! My Son’s birthday is in September so instantly I thought of him. Last year he spent his birthday in Nova Scotia, Canada which led to the creation of this card.
The Lighthouse from Winnie Starfish/Sandcastles proved to be just perfect for the background technique I had planned to apply to this card. I blended using PolkaDoodles Blending Brushes with tones of blue/green distress inks onto the background using a random pebble stencil for the water, and a tea colored ink for sandy beach. A pallet knife and Grit paste allowed me to mimic the crashing waves at the shoreline of the lighthouse.
“I Sea it’s Your Birthday” was the perfect sentiment for this charming coastal creation. Dive in and give this card a try! Further details can be found on my blog.
DLPD9498 Ghastly Ghost - Julie Nagle - 7 Sept 2024
Our challenge this time for the design team was to create something for a Halloween Party - and no Halloween Party would be complete without candy, right?! So I knew I had to make a party favor of some type that could be filled with Spook-tacular treats! My project focused on Ghastly Ghosts because they are just so darn cute and I knew they would be super fun to create with. They also paired perfectly with Halloween Trick or Treat Printable Papers! The party favors are easily constructed and instructions are included on my blog. The adorable little images were colored using Copic Markers, and the sentiments were included in the Ghastly Ghost download.
These playful little treats are perfect for your Halloween party or for delighting trick-or-treaters.
WWX45h Winnie White Christmas - Julie Nagle - 21 Sept 2024
Today’s design team project is a festive holiday card featuring a coffee mug with a hidden pocket - perfect for tucking in a gift card.
The card starts with a free Polkadoodles mug template. I added a beautiful pre colored image Winnie White Christmas - Shopping to the front of the coffee cup (which doubles as a gift card holder). A holiday sentiment adds Christmas cheer to the coffee cup. 2 printable holiday papers and a glimpse of a popular Christmas carol complete the background. Seasonal foliage was the perfect embellishment for this card front. All of the products used were included in the Winnie White Christmas Printable Collection. How excited will the card recipient be when they find a coffee shop gift card in the mug?

DWPHS Spooky House - Julie Nagle - 05 October 2024
Halloween - My most favorite theme to create cards for! Today’s design team card is crafted to resemble an eerie tombstone using an arched die and a few quick snips with scissors for the card bottom. The mystical background is blended with spooky ink tones, a touch of metallic splatter and hints of ghostly whispers.
A chilling haunted house looms in the foreground - Polkadoodles Spooky House. I colored in the windows with yellow tones and clear embossed the house to create the sinister glow of the house in the darkness. Creepy bats and tattered tombstones were included in the Spooky House download and were perfect for adding an unsettling charm to the scene.
The bottom of the tombstone card reads “Happy Halloween” - one of the many sentiments from Ghastly Ghost Printables. I can’t wait to send out this ghostly greeting!

DLPD9032 Pop Up Cookie Kit - Julie Nagle- 02 Nov 2024

Every card you create is a canvas, and the background textures you incorporate can elevate it to new heights of creativity. On a recent walk, within just five minutes, I discovered a treasure trove of textures waiting to inspire my next card. From the soft, feathery wisps of grass to the rough bark of tree trunks, and even the delicate patterns of stone pathways, nature's artistry is everywhere!
Think about using these natural elements as your inspiration. A piece of crinkled paper can evoke the feeling of leaves underfoot, while bubble wrap might bring a playful pop to your design. Incorporating diverse textures not only adds depth but also engages the senses, making your card truly unique. Let your surroundings guide your creative journey—every smooth pebble and every jagged edge can spark new ideas and techniques. Embrace the charm of textures, and watch your handmade cards come to life in ways you never imagined!
DLPD8542 Gnome & Polar Bear - Julie Nagle- 16 Nov 2024
A Christmas card using an image from Gnome Festive Fun Collection, that was the Design Team Challenge this time. I chose to print and color the Polar Bear-Gnome Festive Fun image to create my card. I used printable paper from Winnie White Christmas 2 to create a background and a frame for the inner background. I created the birch trees with a random tree stamp and added some falling snowflakes and glitter on the tree trunks. My idea was to create a Christmas card using calm & peaceful colors with only the Gnomes hat having that festive pop of red. I hope you like the card as much as I do!
