Snowflake Kisses, Pretty Paper & My Snowman Obsession

I have a thing for snowmen.

Not a little thing. A full-blown, completely unreasonable affection for those round, carrot-nosed, scarf-wearing little characters.

They're my favorite part of winter. Well, aside from sitting inside with a hot chocolate while somebody else shovels the driveway.

And when I spotted this adorable snowman scrapbook paper, there was really only one possible outcome.

It was coming home with me.

Did I mention it was 40% off?

Because that's practically permission to buy it.

From Pretty Paper to Something Useful

I have a rather impressive collection of scrapbook paper. Some people might call it excessive.

Those people are not invited into my craft room.

But I really do use it!

One of my favorite ways to put those beautiful papers to work is by creating handmade spiral notebooks.

For this one, I started with a cheerful blue snowman design and created a sturdy cover. Then came the fun part — adding all those little details that make each notebook special.

Because a Notebook Needs Pockets!

I don't know about you, but I love a good pocket.

This notebook has a coordinating pocket inside the front cover, along with a folder and another pocket toward the back.

Perfect for tucking away little notes, receipts, shopping lists, or that very important piece of paper you put somewhere safe and haven't seen since 2019.

And, of course, there are plenty of lined pages for writing down all those brilliant ideas.

Preferably before you forget them.

Every Notebook Needs a Little Jewelry

Now, here's something I always do when making my notebooks.

I create a little beaded dangler charm to go with each one.

Because apparently, making bracelets and other beaded creations wasn't enough. Now even my notebooks need accessories!

For this winter notebook, I chose a pretty silver snowflake and added a few frosty pastel beads.

The charm clips right onto the spiral binding, adding a little sparkle and personality.

Sometimes I'll even add a coordinating pen before the notebook heads off to the store.

I mean, if we're going to accessorize a notebook, we might as well do it properly.

Alexis Carrington would approve.

A Little Winter Happiness

I love making these notebooks because they're practical, pretty, and a wonderful way to turn beautiful scrapbook paper into something that can be enjoyed every day.

And this particular one?

Well, two smiling snowmen, a little sparkle, and plenty of room for writing.

What's not to love?

And speaking of giving ordinary supplies a little creative makeover, this isn't the first time I've turned something inexpensive into a handmade notebook! Remember my notebook made from a dollar store notepad ? It's another fun example of how a little imagination, some pretty paper, and a few crafty supplies can transform something ordinary into something rather fabulous. Who says beautiful stationery has to cost a fortune?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe it's almost hot chocolate season.

Although, who am I kidding?

There's probably a coffee sitting somewhere in my craft room getting cold as we speak.

Tell me, are you a snowman lover too, or do you have another favorite winter character?

Until next time,

Coffee in hand & something always on the craft table,
