This or That - Floral Stencil
It’s that time again, to play a little this or that game.
This or That?
To play this or that we choose a product from my stash that I haven’t yet used. Something that’s been hanging about still in it’s packaging, collecting dust & feeling very useless as it hasn’t been used to create something beautiful yet.
I create two cards under the watchful eye of my friend Barb, using that product paired with a few other basic supplies. The same products are used on both cards.
When the two cards are finished, she chooses the card she likes best and then I make a choice. We have since carried this to the blog and social media - since I love to hear all of your opinions as well.
Barb was away this week catching some rays at her campsite, so the hubby lovingly volunteered to be the watchful eye. I greatly appreciated this, it’s always nice to spend some time with him in my little world of ink & glitter - so bless his heart.
So here is what we have today - two cards, both beautiful!
While hunting for a particular color of cardstock (we have all got to have a chat about cardstock), I found a Pink & Main stencil nestled between a few sheets of random colored cardstock. Apparently I also need to give some attention to further organization, since I didn’t even realize that this stencil existed there. In fact, I don’t know when it entered my studio or why?
However it was there, still sealed in the package - lonely and never used.
It was a 2 part stencil and as you can see turned out really pretty!
Why have I never used this?
The first card uses stenciling in a masked off area of the card, and features a popped up birthday sentiment, highlighted with some pretty leaf colored drops.
The ink colors used with this floral stencil for both cards were actually some older Stampin Up colors - Seafoam & Flirty Flamingo. This helps us keep using what’s in our stash!
This second card was created with a cropped panel of the stenciled flowers, using a sentiment die cut to cut an opening for the sentiment to peek out from behind the floral pattern.
Both cards turned out so pretty that it actually encouraged me to use this stencil a little further in my card designs. So I have a few more ideas to come to life before this stencil will eventually get lost in the clutter again.
My hubby chose the first card, as did my daughter when she popped in after work.
However, my Grandson & I chose the second card. So it seams we have a bit of a stalemate.
Now it’s your turn… Which card catches your eye?
