Sticky Note Saga Continued >

Featuring sweet sticky honey & Bella the Bear!

So this design team project was “Just Because” and “Not a Card”… I really wanted to create something with a bee theme since the Bumble Bees are out in full force at my house. Bella the Bear Bee Costume is one of my favorite images to create with, and she landed herself right on the front of this super cute “sticky” note holder. Featuring not only Bella but some adorable bee themed printable paper from Spring Gnomes Collection. These sticky note holders are quick, easy and make quite a buzz at craft markets!

Sweet, Sticky Details for this Sticky Note Holder

Sweet Glossy Dripping Honey courtesy of a Drip Die Cut, Copic Markers & Nuvo Glossy Accents.

So this adorable sticky note holder is not only sweet, but it’s also quick & easy to create.

This one had a few more details since it was a Design Team project. You can make these as easy or complex as you like.

Mine started with a the cute Bella Bee image. I colored and cut the image.

Using “Adobe Express” (free program) I added some text boxes with my own sentiments since I couldn’t quite find what I was looking for. I do this a lot cuz I love a custom greeting!!

So I typed in the text and added a hexagon shape around each grouping of words. Then added an extra hexagon shape that I could use in my background - so just a plain white hexagon.

I printed my custom sentiments in their hexagon shapes and easily cut them out. I used some yellow toned inks and a blending brush to create a honey shaded color and some shadow on the sentiment hexagons.

“Just Because” “You May Need A Sticky Note”

Using the remaining ink from the blending brush and a honeycomb stencil I add a bit of honeycomb texture to the remaining white hexagon in random places.

I added the honeycomb hexagon to a piece of bee themed background paper from Polkadoodles Spring Gnomes Collection.

The honey drip:

The honey drip was created with a drip die cut - ink blended in the same yellow tones ( a little heavier to one side of each drip). Then adding Nuvo glossy effects to the drip and allowing it to dry.

The same glossy effects were also added to the honey on the jar as well as on the bread.

When the drip was dry I adhered it to the top of the cover of the sticky note holder, over the top of the pattern paper and ink blended hexagon.

I then added Bella and the custom sentiments using foam tape to create a little dimension on this sticky note cover.

So now that you have all of the details to create this cover, you probably want to know how to actually create the sticky note book holder in itself. Or at least the rest of the sticky note saga.

You can find out all of details about both situations (including measurements) over on the next post.
