Here in Canada —Thanksgiving leftovers are officially gone (well, except that one piece of pie I’m still “saving for later”), the leaves have made their grand exit, and Halloween is knocking on the door with a bag full of candy and chaos. That can only mean one thing—it’s time to trade in our pumpkin spice for peppermint mochas and dive headfirst into the season of cozy, wintery cardmaking! Those cute pre-Christmas creations are calling, and honestly, they pair perfectly with a hot coffee and a sprinkle of glitter on the table.

This card is pure snow-day joy — the kind that reminds you of rosy cheeks, flying snowballs, and giggles echoing through the frosty air. It’s a cozy little scene that captures winter fun without diving straight into Christmas — just a sweet pause between pumpkin pie and peppermint season (coffee in hand, of course!).

There’s just something magical about that first proper snowfall — the kind that sends kids racing outside, bundled up like marshmallows, ready to build an army of snowmen before the cocoa even cools. This sweet little scene captures that pure winter joy — the laughter, the rosy cheeks, and yes, maybe a coffee in hand for the grown-ups supervising the snowball chaos.

What makes this card especially charming is its versatility — it’s perfectly wintery without being tied strictly to Christmas. A cheerful “Let it Snow” moment that fits anywhere from the first flurries of November to the cozy heart of January.

To bring this chilly little scene to life, I started by cutting a soft snowbank for that perfect snowy base — the kind of hill you can almost imagine sledding down. The stamped image was colored with Copic markers to give our snow-day duo a cozy, storybook look, and a few delicate die-cut snowflakes floated in to complete the frosty atmosphere. A simple design, but full of winter charm — proof that with the right stamps, a bit of color, and maybe a sip of coffee nearby, you can create a whole little world of snowy fun right on a card front.

For this version, I kept to a cool palette of blues and greys — soft, wintry shades that feel calm and frosty, just like a snowy morning. But that’s the fun of a design like this — it’s easy to change up! Swap in a patterned paper background or try warm reds, cheerful greens, or even pastel pinks for a whole new vibe. A simple shift in color can take this card from a quiet winter day to a playful holiday scene, all while keeping that same sweet, snowman-building charm.

The card inside uses a 1/2 strip of the same pattern paper and a snowflake with a lovely sentiment stamped from:

If you’ve fallen for this sweet little scene (and who wouldn’t?), you’ll definitely want to keep this stamp set close at hand — it’s full of heartwarming winter moments just waiting to be turned into cards. This is only the beginning of the fun we’ll be having with it, so stay tuned for more cozy, coffee-fueled creations featuring these adorable characters. Trust me, you’ll be reaching for this one all season long!

So grab your favorite mug of coffee, a dash of sparkle, and that darling stamp set — because the only thing better than playing in the snow is crafting it on paper!
