BEAD DYNASTY
Money. Power. Pony beads.
Scandal. Intrigue. Questionable Amazon purchases.
There are moments in life when you realize you’ve stumbled onto something important.
This was not one of those moments.
This was a Saturday spent playing with a $6 Amazon Halloween bead kit that somehow ended with comparisons to Blake Carrington, Alexis judging my craft supplies, Anders quietly trying to keep the operation running and one lonely green rhinestone bead apparently becoming a recurring character.
And thus…
BEAD DYNASTY was born.
Money. Power. Pony Beads.
Welcome to my craft empire.
How Did We Get Here?
It all started innocently enough.
I bought a $6 Halloween bead kit from Amazon to see what I could make with it. Ten bracelets later, we'd discovered that the letter beads couldn't spell EEK, there weren't enough clay discs to make a bracelet, the pony beads were testing my maturity and somebody at the bead-kit factory had tossed in one green rhinestone bead for reasons we may never understand.
Kit Image from Amazon ( I only had one green bead).
There were highs.
There were lows.
There were gold spacers.
There were red and white disco-ball beads that looked like they'd wandered in from the Christmas department.
It was practically a season of Dynasty already.
And then, while trying to create a collage of the day's work, I uttered the words:
“I feel like Blake Carrington and I just need an Anders.”
And everything went downhill from there.
Or uphill.
Frankly, I'm still not sure.
Enter Alexis
Because obviously if we're creating a craft-room version of Dynasty, Alexis needs to be involved.
And we all know exactly how she'd behave.
She'd sweep into the craft room, take one look at my $6 Amazon bead kit and announce:
“Darling, if you're going to use pony beads, at least have the decency to add gold spacers.”
She'd then steal the purple bracelet, declare the lone green rhinestone bead tacky and leave without helping clean up a damn thing.
Which, frankly, feels completely on brand.
Meanwhile, Anders would be quietly sorting the remaining beads back into their compartments and wondering how his life had come to this.
And So Begins Bead Dynasty
Money. Power. Pony Beads.
Because there is always drama in the craft room.
A bead will be missing.
A supply order will be questionable.
Something will arrive from Amazon that looked significantly larger in the photograph.
A bracelet will refuse to cooperate.
I'll buy beads I absolutely did not need.
And sooner or later, I'm quite certain Alexis will have an opinion about it.
But here's the part I'm really going to have fun with.
Every new episode will begin with:
Previously… on Bead Dynasty…
We'll revisit whatever nonsense happened during the last beading adventure before moving on to the latest scandal.
So our next Bead Dynasty post might begin something like this:
Previously… on Bead Dynasty:
Ten Halloween bracelets emerged from a mysterious $6 Amazon bead kit. Pony beads were reluctantly accepted into polite society, Alexis claimed the purple acrylics, and one solitary green rhinestone bead was left behind to contemplate its future. This week… things get worse.
I have absolutely no idea where this is going.
But considering Bead Dynasty was born from a $6 Amazon purchase, a Saturday afternoon in the craft room and entirely too much discussion about one green bead…
I think we're off to an excellent start.
Stay tuned.
Because in this dynasty, fortunes can change with the snip of an elastic cord.
And nobody — nobody — touches Alexis's gold spacers. 🤣
BEAD DYNASTY: Money. Power. Pony Beads.
Episode 1: The Mysterious Green Rhinestone
And later…
Episode 2: Alexis Refuses to Wear Acrylic.
“Previously… on BEAD DYNASTY…”
Alexis has stolen the purple acrylic beads.
Blake has discovered someone paid $7 for a kit that was available for $6.
Anders is quietly sorting the gold spacers while questioning every decision that led him here.
And somewhere in the mansion…
that one green rhinestone bead is plotting its revenge.
Stay tuned for the next episode of Bead Dynasty… because apparently money can’t buy good taste, but it CAN buy an alarming number of beads.
Previously… on BEAD DYNASTY…
The pony beads had been accepted — reluctantly. The purple acrylics were gone. Ten Halloween bracelets had risen from the ashes of a $6 bead kit. But one question remained…
Who ordered the green rhinestone?
Anders quietly closes the bead containers, straightens the gold spacers, removes the coffee cup and heads for the door.
“Of course.”
Pauses.
“Although I would still like it noted for the record that I had nothing to do with that green rhinestone.”
That’ll be all. 😂
Until next time on BEAD DYNASTY… 🥂📿
“My grandfather built this Dynasty with a six-dollar bead kit. He had nothing but a spool of Stretch Magic, three unusable compartments of letter beads and a dream.”
Stares meaningfully out the mansion window.
“And I’ll be damned if I’m going to stand here and watch you destroy everything he built… over PONY BEADS.”
Meanwhile Anders is in the kitchen doing those same dinner dishes thinking:
These people have completely lost their minds.
And somewhere upstairs, Alexis is wearing the purple bracelet.

Think of it as helping to keep this little corner of the internet supplied with paper, ink, beads… and, most importantly, coffee. Because apparently creativity requires caffeine and an alarming number of craft supplies.
So click away guilt-free. You get the crafty goodies, I might get enough commission to fund my next questionable craft-room purchase. Everybody wins ~Thank you!
