Cuz It’s Not Officially Fall Until a Scarecrow Pops Up
Grab your coffee (pumpkin spice optional), because fall just showed up on my craft table.
If the scent of pumpkin spice hasn’t hit you yet, don’t worry—this little scarecrow is here to make it official.
Forget calendars and weather apps, fall doesn’t really begin until you see one of these plaid-wearing, pumpkin-hugging cuties show up. And unlike my morning coffee, this one doesn’t require extra foam or a sprinkle of cinnamon to bring a smile. Just a cheerful little “Hay Friend!” and boom—instant fall vibes!
To build this cheerful scarecrow card, I started with a soft, fall-inspired background of ink blended leaves in a few playful colors for extra warmth. The scarecrow himself takes center stage, colored up in those classic autumn tones we all love, and then popped onto the card with a bit of dimension. A few finishing touches—a white splatter to break up the leaves a bit, and a gold splatter for a hint of Autumn sparkle.
This little scarecrow was such a cozy project to make—here’s what I used to bring him to life:
Copic Markers or Tri Blend Markers
So whether you’re team pumpkin spice or just here for the cozy fall feels, this little scarecrow is proof that autumn has officially arrived—one crafty card at a time.
This design might ring a bell—it’s actually one of my most popular tutorials, reimagined over the years in several fun versions (even a Santa remake!). Every now and again I create a new version and offer up the tutorial for a limited time. For fall, I’m dusting it off and sharing the fun again. Want the tutorial?
