Bob the Dog is on the move… Interactive Card!

Yes, Bob the Dog is really on the move!

He wobbles to and fro on this card front where he appears to peddling his bike with his dog house in tow behind.

How is does Bob move?

Bob wobbles around the card front because he is attached to an action spring on the front of this card. The tiny wobbler mechanism allows Bob to well… “wobble” around.

If you don’t have any spring wobblers on hand you can visit my Craft Room Favorites and purchase some from my Amazon Store. Action wobblers are perfect to have on hand when you just want to add a little fun on a card front without creating a full on fun fold.

As human beings we are naturally intrigued by things that move, shake and slide… so interactive cards are a definite favorite for me when it comes to creating and sending cards.

Such as the “Never ending card” - have you made one of those?

I can’t put one of those cards down - like I have it wore out before I sent it to the intended recipient.

Let me know in the comments below if you want to give one of those a try and we’ll do one!

Anywho… No wonder Bob is moving?! I’m completely ignoring him here! Back to the card -

We have established that Bob is indeed moving on the card front, however the actual purpose of the card is intended to announce a move! So someone is moving, maybe it’s you, maybe it’s someone you know and they want a cute way to let everyone know where they are moving to - well this card has “We’ve moved” insert for the inside of the card that the sender can fill out with the details of the new address.

What a super cute way to do an address change!!

The image for this card comes from the Polka Doodles shop, oh and actually so do the papers and the sentiment as well as the “we’ve moved” insert. All wrapped up in one bundle!

This is a digital bundle - it includes the black and white image, a pre-colored image, SVG & DXF files cutting files, 36 sentiments, we’ve moved insert and 3 digital papers for less than 10 bucks!

With this many sentiments and papers to choose from - you can send 32 different cards. The sentiments are not only geared to moving but also cover adventures, miss you and a bunch of other stuff.

This digital bundle definitely covers more card topics than moving!

The perfect pairing to this is Bob the dog painting his dog house ( I’ll link that below ) to give you even more card creativity!! Creativity at a low cost - I love it!

I used Bob Painting his Dog house to create “Happy New Home Greeting Card”

Who wouldn’t love a cute little card with Bob on it?

So here’s the products and then we’ll get to the measurements just down in the post a bit further.

Time to create this fun interactive moving card featuring Bob the Dog -

Card base - 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @5 1/2

Designer Paper 1 - 3 1/4 x 5 1/2

Designer Paper 2 - 3 3/4 x 3

Print the dog - either in black and white so you can color it, or in the pre colored version so you don’t have to color, whichever one makes you happy!

Print the desired sentiment and trim down with a paper trimmer - I love my mini for this ( find it in my craft room favorites).

Print your digital papers - for this project I would print them at 4 x 6. That leaves you with a some scrap to decorate the inside of the card.

Print the “we’ve moved” insert if that is required for your card.

Color and cut the image of Bob either using the provided cutting files or fussy cut.

Using glue or tape seal attach the long strip of pattern paper centered on the front of the card base.

Using foam tape attach the second piece of pattern paper as pictured on the card.

Using the spring action wobbler(s) attach 1 or 2 onto the back of the image, peel the sticky paper off and attach to the desired position on the card front.

Adhere the sentiment using a bit of foam tape.

Add a few rhinestones, dots or gems to create even more interest on the card front.

Decorate the inside of the card and a coordinating envelope. You could print an extra piece of paper to decorate the flap of the envelope to really add pizzazz to your project!

Don’t forget to “move” this card along to someone who will love it!!

I hope you have enjoyed this project and that you decide to have some creative fun with it! Let me know in the comments below. Happy Crafting!!

P.S. Bob has another adventure coming so be sure to check back for that!
