Bee Happy with Bella Bee – A Sweet Twist on an Arch Card

Sometimes all it takes is turning something sideways to discover a whole new way to create! 😊 That's exactly what happened with today's card for the Polkadoodles Design Team.

Instead of using an arch die in the traditional way, I decided to give it a little twist—literally. By partially die-cutting the folded card base and turning it horizontally, the result is a fun landscape card with a beautiful arch-shaped edge. It's such an easy technique, but it gives the finished card a completely different look. I always love finding ways to get a little more mileage out of the supplies already sitting on my craft desk.

For this cheerful design, I used the adorable Bella Bee digital image along with the sweet little bee house and tiny buzzing bees included in the Winnie Fruit Punch Collection. Everything was colored with Copic markers using simple, happy color combinations. Sometimes you don't need dozens of markers or complicated blending—just a handful of colors and a little creativity can bring these charming characters to life.

One of the things I love most about working with digital stamps is the flexibility they offer. Need a larger focal image? Simply resize it. Want tiny embellishments to scatter around your card? Shrink them down with a click. Whether you're making an A2 card, a slimline design, a tag, or even a scrapbook page, digital images can be sized to fit your project perfectly. No masking, no wishing the stamp came in another size—just print exactly what you need and start creating.

This card reminds me why I enjoy card making so much. Sometimes the best ideas aren't brand new techniques—they're simply looking at an old favorite from a different angle. In this case... sideways. Who knew an arch die just needed a little change in perspective?
