Bead Dynasty: We Have a BOO!
Previously on Bead Dynasty…
There was a $6 Halloween bead kit (read more about that here). There was one mysterious green bead. There were letter beads that couldn’t spell Eek. There were certainly no WTFs, which frankly felt like an oversight considering the situation.
And because apparently I believe in giving questionable Amazon bead kits a second chance, I bought another one.
Money. Power. Pony Beads.
And now… basic spelling.
The second $6 bead kit has officially entered the Dynasty.
Did it solve all of our problems? Absolutely not. The letter selection appears to be every bit as grammatically challenged as the first box. But this time, tucked among the assortment, was one O.
ONE.
Normally, finding a single letter O in a box of beads would not be cause for celebration. But these are desperate times here at Bead Dynasty.
I already had a B and another O left from the first kit.
Ladies and gentlemen…
WE CAN SPELL BOO.
A Halloween Miracle
I already had the heishi beads out — because apparently putting beads away before starting another project is no longer part of my lifestyle — and I wanted a black, purple and bright green Halloween combination.
The black letter beads were perfect.
Well… they would have been perfect if I could spell anything with them.
Between two entire bead kits, however, the stars aligned. The letters cooperated. The bead gods smiled upon the craft room.
B + O + O.
Three letters.
Two $6 kits.
One bracelet.
I don't want to brag, but we're basically crushing it over here.
And About That Green Bead…
Now, longtime viewers of this ongoing drama may be wondering about the green bead.
You know the one.
That single random green bead from Kit #1 that showed up without explanation, purpose or a single matching friend.
Well, here's where things get interesting.
Kit #2 did NOT have one.
So apparently the green bead isn't standard equipment.
Which means I'm starting to think ordering one of these $6 kits is less like buying craft supplies and more like purchasing a lottery ticket.
Will YOUR box contain the elusive green bead?
Nobody knows.
At this point, I'm almost afraid to use mine. It's becoming a Bead Dynasty family heirloom.
And yes, I will eventually make something with it.
Probably.
Maybe.
But where's the fun in resolving that storyline too quickly?
For now, our little BOO bracelet gets its moment in the spotlight, and Kit #2 has officially earned itself a place in the Dynasty. There are plenty more beads in that box, which means there are plenty more tiny projects — and questionable decisions — still to come.
