A Jolly Little Book Fold… Featuring the Cutest Reindeer Ever
How on earth is it already December 9th? I swear we were just picking pumpkins yesterday—and now here we are, knee-deep in tinsel, to-do lists, and the great annual hunt for Scotch tape.
Today I’m sharing this charming little book fold card featuring just the cutest reindeer trotting across a cozy knitted-pattern background. The design comes together quickly, looks delightfully dimensional, and gives you that perfect “I totally have it together” moment—even if your desk (like mine) looks like the North Pole assembly line.
And seriously… how is it December 9th already? I blinked once and suddenly we’re counting down days, not weeks. At this point, even my coffee needs coffee.
The book fold style is one of my holiday favorites because it gives you that perfect mix of structure and charm without requiring any paper crafting gymnastics.
For this card, I paired a teal plaid panel with a cozy heart-stitch background—basically creating the cardstock equivalent of a Christmas sweater runway for this sweet little reindeer. A pair of jingle bells tied with gold twine adds just the right amount of festive flair (because if something can jingle in December, it absolutely should).
To create this card:
- Cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored on the long side @ 4 1/4 & 5 1/2,
- Pattern Paper cut @ 4 1/8 x 4, 1 1/8 x 4
- Scraps of White for stamping sentiments
- White Cardstock cut @ 4 1/8 x 4 (inside)
Additionally you will need:
You’re a Deer Stamp Set - Photoplay
Small Jingle Bells or grab some from a local dollar store
Basic Instructions:
Cut & Score the card base. Crease score lines.
Adhere pattern paper pieces to the card base.
Apply glue to the back of the 1 1/4 section of the card front and adhere it to the card inside to create the binding.
Using a hole punch, create 2 holes in the binding section to wrap ribbon through. (approx. 2 inches apart)
Wrap metallic thread through the holes several times, attach the jingle bells and secure it all up with a bow.
Stamp & Color the sweet little reindeer, add a gold metallic bow.
Stamp & cut the sentiments and place in desired position on the card front.
Adhere the remaining white layer to the inside of the card, stamp with any additional messages.
This layout is clean, cheerful, and perfect for showcasing adorable images—or for using up that ever-growing stash of holiday paper we pretend we’re not still buying.
So tell me… is everyone actually ready for Christmas, or are we all just winging it with a glue gun and good intentions? If you’re still crafting your way through your holiday checklist—this sweet little fold is a joyful project to sneak into your crafting time. Whether you’re sending it to a friend, tucking it into a gift, or simply admiring your own handiwork (no judgment here), I hope this prancing cutie brings a little extra sparkle to your day.
Happy crafting—and may your tape dispenser be ever in your favor!
