Sending Love…

This adorable card features the word “LOVE” using 3 sets of die cut letters as well as a backing layer which allows the main sentiment to pop right off the card front..

The secondary sentiment is heat embossed using white embossing powder, which pulls the white from the background and ties the whole sentiment together.

The bunny is a cutesy little character from a Stampin Up stamp set - Happy Day.

How to Create This Card -

The focus of this project (again not that cute little bunny), is the word “LOVE” with all of it’s height and dimension that just pops right off the card front. The effect was created with a large word die from Scrapbook.com.

Decorative Emboss and Die Set - mini Love.

This die is so cute with it’s embossed texture. A die that cuts the word itself and a die that cuts that outline for the word. Plus- I believe it’s on sale right now.

So now that you know where to get the die from - on with the project!

You will need to cut this word itself from this die once with the chosen patterned paper, and twice with just white cardstock. Then cut the outline die once with a colored cardstock to coordinate with the pattern paper.

Layer all 3 of the word die cuts together using glue with the patterned paper cut out on the top.

Then adhere the stacked words onto the outline die cut of colored cardstock.

The greeting is complete.

Let’s move on to the other parts of the card -

You will need to choose a cute little character or another stamped image that you would like to decorate your card with.

In this case I chose the bunny character from Stampin’ Up - Happy Days.

Stamp and color the image, I used Copic markers. Die cut the image.

Use a small heart die cut to create a heart from white cardstock. Color the heart using markers or another coloring tool to coordinate with the colors in your design. Adhere the heart between the bunny’s arms. Like he is really sending Love!

Using a small scrap of red cardstock - stamp the word sending. I just picked one from another stamp in my stash. I stamped the sentiment onto the the cardstock strip using Versimark ink. Covered in white embossing powder and heat set the sentiment for a nice bright white glossy effect.

Putting the card together -

I used a card base of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 , Scored @ 4 1/4

Red Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

Patterned Paper cut at 4 x 5 1/4.

Layer the designer paper onto the red cardstock layer. Then layer that panel onto the card front.

Adhere the LOVE sentiment in the desired position to the bottom left of the card using glue.

With foam squares attach the bunny to appear he is standing on top of the word LOVE.

This allows the bunny and the sentiment to pop off of the card front.

Add the ‘sending” sentiment just above the word love.

Finish the card front off with a few gems, rhinestones or dots for a little added interest.

You can add some Wink of Stella or Zig Pen to the heart or any other chosen areas of the card front.

I love that this die is so versatile it can be used on so many cards - not just Valentine cards. It’s definitely a great addition to any crafting stash!
