Happy Little Thoughts

Today’s card began with Translucent Florals stamp & die bundle from Stampin’ Up, as well as Delightful Floral designer paper that coordinates with the bundle.

Card Measurements & Instructions:

Card base: Thick white cardstock - 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @ 5 1/2

2 pieces of Delightful Floral Designer Paper - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

1 piece Coral cardstock - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

1 piece white cardstock - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

Layer the coral cardstock on top of the card base making sure that all edges match up.

Stack the white cardstock layer with the 1 floral piece section of designer paper. Using an edge die - run both layer through die cutting machine, so that the scalloped ( or die of choice ) cuts both layers of paper. You may want to do 2 passes, The white cardstock layer will be used to strengthen the floral layer.

Use a corner rounder to round the corners on the 2nd piece of floral designer paper. Stamp the desired greeting to the top right of the layer. Then attach this layer to the front of the card base.

Attach the 2 stacked layers together using glue or tape seal. Then add foam tape or squares on the backside of the layer. Line it up to the card front and attach. This creates a bit of dimension between those 2 patterned layers. Since we added the white cardstock layer to this piece this section of the card has some added durability.

Stamp a floral of choice from the stamp set on piece of scrap white cardstock in the desired color. I used Calypso Coral to coordinate with the other layers of my card.

I also stamped a leaf cluster from the stamp set, and cut both out using the die cuts from the bundle.

I cut a 2 1/2 inch scalloped circle from Vellum Cardstock to coordinate with the scalloped border design. Assemble these die cuts to the center of the vellum circle and attach to the card front.

Add some gems to the card front for added interest.

I used some pixie dust ( a little magic I call it ) and a few drops of water with a fan paint brush and spattered beautiful dainty sparkle all over the card front - particularly the flower.

This card looks like it came out of the enchanted forest, it is so sparkly and magical.

The card inside was stamped with “ Today & Always” (find out more about that stamp set over on the blog ), with of course a little more magic for the card inside.

I used a piece of the same designer paper to decorate the envelope flap, and a little dusting of magic was added there also - leaving this card absolutely nothing short of extremely pretty.

Someone is going to love receiving it!
