Squirrel in a Planter Pot Greeting Card
This adorable card features a simple layout that can be used with any image though this squirrel is particularly cute! The squirrel is a digital image from leehollandart - where you can find many incredible images to work with.
The card starts with a card base of 4 1/4 x 11, Scored at 5 1/2.
1 piece of white cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5.
1 piece of designer paper cut at 4 1/4 x 5.
** Note - the digital image outline was printed on the white cardstock layer and then it was cut to size. If you are stamping an image then you can cut the cardstock to size first and then stamp the image.
The white layer was cut again on a diagonal slant, degree of slant is optional depending on your image.
The patterned paper layer attaches to the card front.
After coloring the desired image on the white cardstock. Add any details such as highlights, or splatter. I used a coordinating ink splatter and a splatter of Cosmic Shimmer on this card.
When the image panel is finished, place foam tape on the back and adhere over the patterned paper layer.
Stamp the desired sentiment on the diagonal scrap of white cardstock that was cut off of the card front image. Stamp the greeting along the same edge for a nice clean strip that fits perfectly onto the patterned paper layer. I trimmed the ends of the sentiment strip on a diagonal.
Lastly, add a few gems or rhinestones for a little added interest to the card front.
** Stamp desired sentiment to the card inside.
***Use a piece of coordinating patterned paper to decorate the flap of an envelope.
I hope this card has given you some inspiration to create a little fun in your crafting space…
Happy Crafting!!!
