Hello Lovely… Get Well Wishes Card

A “Get Well” Card featuring Mr. Sox the Fox. Isn’t he absolutely adorable?

Sometimes you just need want to send a card to someone simply because you feel the need to just check in on that person, remind them they are lovely, that you are thinking of them… perhaps they are have been ill and you want to express to them that you hope they are feeling better.

And… you want to do so in a super cute creative way, so in the form of a fun card with an adorable little character on the front that will surely make the person smile - you’d also like to carry that vibe to the inside of the card to be sure the recipient will still be smiling when they get there…

So who wouldn’t smile when seeing this cute little foxy fellow on this card front, the beautiful colors on the designer paper and cardstocks that create the background for the image, and well most certainly everyone wants to be referred to as “lovely” as the sentiment suggests.

It’s truly a “feel good card”, which is exactly the intended feeling that you wanted to pass along…

Here’s a peek at the card inside - “hope you feel bright eyed and bushy tailed again soon” as an inside sentiment and just a hint of pattern paper that carries the foxy little fella to the inside of the card.

This inside sentiment does convey that the recipient had perhaps been ill or experiencing some type of difficult time and that you are hoping they are feeling better soon.

A different sentiment on the inside would give whole new meaning to the card.

How did this card idea arise?

Interesting little story, really - for me it was anyhow…

So it starts here … Polka Doodles has these card challenges each week/biweekly/maybe even monthly? There are a few of them anyway, and I have been entering some of my card creations in those challenges - and doing quite well. I have won as a designers choice several times. Whoop! Whoop!!

I’ll take off my celebration hat and put down the streamers now…

The prizes for winning these challenges are digital downloads! Yay! I am happy with that, cuz who doesn’t love something free that you can create with as well as recognition that comes from winning a challenge.

Did I mention all of the fun cards that you get to see other crafters adding to the challenge! It’s amazing - people are super talented!!

Back to the challenge prize - as I said, when you win a challenge at Polka Doodles you get to pick free digital images as prizes! So I chose “Mr. Sox the fox”. I’ll show you the download right here as well as the link to check it out further.

Great prize right?!

So this particular file includes not only the fox image, but also 6 patterned papers, 2 sentiments, 2 precolored images, as well as the SVG & DXF cutting files for each image.

Umm ya - it was a great prize!!

Now.. even if I hadn’t won this as a prize and I had just wanted to purchase it to create a card - the cost is still so low that you can’t go wrong in any way! I believe the cost is roughly around 5 bucks for this package of coordinating products and No Shipping costs!!!

And what if you could purchase this file even cheaper???

Can you?? Oh yes you can!!!

***If you are reading this on Tuesday - Tuesday’s are “digi choose days” at Polka Doodles and you can purchase downloads with a percentage off of the chosen items! 35% off using Code DC35

Needless to say - I always buy on Tuesdays.. cuz I’m just frugal that way…

So today Mr. Fox and all that comes with him is $3.88 (CAD).

You would be hard pressed to find a full file of products that would allow you to create multiple cards for $3.88!!

Now that I have pointed you towards the best deal you will possibly get today…

lets get on with this Foxy card creation.

  • White Cardstock Base - 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @ 5 1/2

  • Peachy Colored Cardstock - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

  • Pattern paper 1 - 3 x 5 3/8

  • Peachy Cardstock Square - 3 1/4 inch

  • White Cardstock Square - 3 inch

  • Fox image (printed from file download)

  • Sentiments (printed from file download)

  • Pattern paper 2 - 1 x 4 1/4 (card inside)

>>> After cutting the required card pieces above, you will first need to color the fox image

- or will you??

Did you notice that the file comes with precolored images??

Oh Ya! It Does!!

Which means that you can simply print the precolored image, cut it using the cutting files supplied in the download on your cricut or cameo or whatever cutting machine you use, and just like that, the image is ready to use on your card.

So, if you don’t like to color, or maybe you struggle with Copic markers and your just not that comfortable with coloring at this moment, or you are just in a hurry and you need this image to be ready to adhere to this card front now…. then this option is for you!!!

Mostly all of the Polka Doodles images have an option for the precolored version, so keep that in mind for yourself depending on whether you are a colorist or not. Absolutely nothing wrong with either choice! There are no wrongs in crafting!!! I love that part!!!

The card is assembled exactly as you see it, other than adding foam tape behind the largest square as well as Mr. Fox himself. Add a few gems, dots or rhinestones and you have a Foxy Thinking of you / Get Well type card to send off to that person whom you wanted to show some love to…

Cuz everyone needs a little love in the form of a card…

Happy Crafting!!!
