Egg-stra Cute Easter Treat Holder (with a Surprise Inside!)

If you’re looking for a fun, creative way to gift Easter goodies this year, this little project might just crack you up—in the best way! As part of my Polkadoodles Design Team make, I created this adorable Easter Egg Treat Holder that’s equal parts cute and clever… and yes, it does hold chocolate (because priorities!).

At first glance, it looks like a sweet, decorative Easter egg—but here’s where the magic happens. The front and back layers fit together to form the egg shape, with a partial box cleverly sandwiched in between. That hidden space is perfect for tucking in a favorite Easter treat… or a few!

For the design, I used patterned paper from the Pretty Spring Papers collection, which created the perfect soft and cheerful backdrop. Paired with the oh-so-adorable Cheeky Chick image, it really brings those springtime vibes to life. I colored my chick with Copic markers for that bright, happy finish—but if coloring isn’t your thing (or you’re short on time), you can absolutely use the pre-colored version for a quicker make!

Now let’s talk about the fun part—what fits inside! The “Eggstra Special” sentiment was practically made for those mini eggs tucked inside, but the smaller version works beautifully for a classic Easter Creme Egg too.

Simply adjust the egg size or inside box to fit any treat you wish you put inside this Easter Treat Holder.

And don’t feel limited to candy—this little holder is surprisingly versatile! You could swap in a cookie and a tea bag for a cozy gift, or even turn it into a crafty surprise. I managed to fit two small containers of gems, a mini bottle of liquid glue, and embossing powder inside… which makes it the cutest little gift for a crafty friend!

Whether you’re making these for kids, friends, or fellow crafters, this Easter Egg Treat Holder is such a fun way to package up a little joy. And the best part? I’m offering a free printable tutorial so you can create your own!

So go ahead—grab your papers, pick your treats, and let’s make something egg-stra special this Easter!
