A Little Card, A Lot About YOU

Today’s card is all about YOU — literally!

The bold “YOU” sentiment takes center stage as the main design focus, reminding us how one simple word can carry so much meaning. Paired with a bright, cheerful sunflower and a fluttering little butterfly, this card is all about sending smiles and sunshine in paper form. Sometimes the best cards don’t need a lot of words — just a heartfelt YOU to let someone know they’re the reason behind the smile.

Steps to Create the Card:

  1. Start with the Base
I began with a soft aqua card base — fresh, clean, and the perfect backdrop to make that bold YOU sentiment pop.

  2. Frame It Up
Using a zig-zag edged rectangle die, I cut patterned paper in a rich chocolate brown with tiny polka dots. This gives a playful but grounded frame for the center panel.

  3. All About YOU
The sentiment “YOU” is the real star of today’s card. I die-cut and layered it for extra dimension, then stamped the phrase “make me smile” beneath it to complete the thought.

  4. Add Some Sunshine
Next came the sunflower — bright yellow petals, a rich brown center, and a couple of lush green leaves. It’s the perfect supporting character, drawing the eye right back to that sentiment.

  5. Finishing Touches
A little butterfly, a few scattered gems, and a sprinkle of ink splatters bring the design together with just the right amount of detail.

Supply List

At the end of the day, this card really is all about YOU — or at least the “you” who’ll smile when it’s pulled from the envelope. The sunflower might bring the sunshine, but the sentiment is the heart of the design.

Sometimes that one little word is all it takes to brighten someone’s whole day.

And here’s the fun part — the YOU die set doesn’t stop here! There are plenty more “YOU” words and sub-phrases tucked inside, just waiting to inspire different card designs. So consider this just the kick-off, because I’ll be sharing more ideas throughout the week (because, let’s face it, this week is staying all about YOU). So grab your coffee, carve out a little creative moment, and let’s keep the focus right where it belongs — on YOU.
