Use a domed blending tool to create depth and dimension on a cardstock layer after embossing it with a 3D embossing folder.

The domed shape of this particular blending tool will allow the ink to catch on the raised sections of the embossing, with a lighter ink shading on the inverted impression.

It creates such a beautiful effect, especially when blending a few different ink colors to create a summer sky.

Then Just Add…

Love, Love, Love - The Sentiment

A little simple stamping of the wildflowers (1st & 2nd generation stamping), a stamped and die cut butterfly topped with a layer of sparkly vellum (Vellum Paper & glitter brush). Finished off with a few clear gems and matted onto a piece of black cardstock before adhering to a card base.

Full disclosure:

I first saw this technique demonstrated by Simon Hurley, however, I did not use the Simon Hurley folder that I used as an example above- as I already had an embossing folder that was very similar. The Simon Hurley folder is simply beautiful as well and was the closest to the one I had used that I could direct you to.

Just another quick note:

I would love to try Simon Hurley Inks! Has anyone used them?
