Add Summer Fun to a Card Front
by Coloring your Die Cuts
This super fun, bright, colourful summer card was created with an ink blended background that sets a vibrant tone. To bring the scene to life, brightly inked die-cut floral pieces were thoughtfully arranged, adding pops of cheerful color and playful dimension.
The combination of smooth blending and bold florals captures the essence of summer’s energy and warmth, making it the perfect handmade card to brighten anyone’s day!
After ink blending a shades of blue background, a color I thought would allow bright colors to pop quite nicely, I cut several floral pieces from an Echo Park flower die that had been hanging around in my stash and had only ever been used once.
Though I remember the project it was used for being incredibly adorable, a die just shouldn’t be this neglected. Products from our stash need to be used many more times in order to get value from something we used our hard earned money for.
Firm on my decision to use this die again, I ink blended the pieces I had die cut - several stems, blossoms and floral centers. I chose bright yellows and popping pinks for the flower blooms. Orange for the center of the flower and bright happy greens for the stems.
I assembled the flowers and then just arranged them on the background. When happy with the placement I glued them down and trimmed off any that were hanging over the edge and used those tiny pieces to fill in any spaces that still needed a pop of color.
Despite searching for this exact die from Echo Park I haven’t been able to find it. I have linked one below that was the closest to this that I could find.
Maybe you already have a fun flower in your stash that would be perfect to create this card or something very similar.
And that’s the idea - blow the dust off fun die cuts you may have in your stash and use them to create in a way you might not have imagined them used!
Let’s not forget the quick & easy sentiment that was simply cut from a sheet load of sentiments, like I mean 12 pages full - Paper Rose All Occasion Sentiments
These sentiments make simple work of adding a sentiment to your card front - just simply snip, add glue or foam tape, done!
If you are someone who likes to create your cards and then add the sentiments later or as the card is needed, these sentiment packs are perfect for that.
The more I used these sentiment strips, the more I wonder why have I been fiddling with ink and embossing powders or finding the perfect sentiment stamp, and do I have a die to cut that out? These sentiment pages take all the stress out of “adding a sentiment”.
Give them a try - you’ll love them!
