Using pattern paper strips to create a fun and easy card!

5 Minute Monday is a series of card tutorials that result in quick and easy cards.

When materials are gathered, required papers are cut, sentiments are chosen - the card should take approximately 5 minutes to put together.

The card layouts are designed to be used with a variety of papers, sentiments, and focal point, making the design usable for anyone regardless

of where you purchase your products.

These tutorials are versatile and meant to inspire your creativity to use products you have in your stash!

Happy Crafting!!

These are the cards we made today!

They are bright and beautiful thanks to some Pink & Main patterned paper.

I used sentiments also from Pink & Main.

A random die cut to cut the butterflies from pattern paper. You could cut them from pattern paper, colored cardstock, or white cardstock and then ink blend them.

One example had the paper strip layer popped up with foam tape and the butterflies adhered flat ( other than the wings ). The 2nd example had the paper strip panel adhered flat and the butterflies popped up with thin strips of foam tape.

Your card doesn’t have to be this paper, or even butterflies. You may choose a flower, or a cute little character for a focal point.

The possibilities are endless!!

Cut the card pieces.

Adhere the first strip across the 4 x 5 1/2 panel starting from the bottom left corner working on the diagonal.

Leave about 1/8 inch space and adhere the 2nd strip above that one.

Leave an 1/8 of an inch and adhere the 3rd strip under the first strip.

Work back and forth in the same manner until your layer is covered in patterned strips.

Aline the pattern strip layer in your trimmer on a diagonal and just eye ball a cut that you like that will basically split the panel in 2 relatively equal sections. I didn’t measure, I just cut!

Add the panel to the card front. Stamp a greeting in the desired space on the white side of the card front. Adhere the butterflies or whatever you have chosen for a focal point. Add a few rhinestones, pearls or dots for some added interest.

Let me know how your card turned out - julie@thepaperartist.ca
