Subtle & Beautiful AnyDay Card

While this card could be a Valentine’s Day card, it could also be used for many other occasions! It’s soft and subtle and expresses love…

The card starts out with a simple card base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, and scored at 4 1/4.

I used some of the DIY patterned paper created in a previous post and cut out 1 of the Mini Layered Butterflies from Scrapbook.com as well as the Decorative Emboss & Die - Mini Love both currently at a nice reduced price.

I also cut 2 more layers of the LOVE word from white cardstock and stacked the 3 layers together to create some nice dimension for the sentiment.

I blended just a tiny bit of Catherine Pooler - By the Lake Ink in random areas where the butterfly would be flying in the sky.

I stamped a simple floral image on the side of the card front and used a mixture of Abandoned Coral Ink with a few drops of water to water color the blooms on the image. I used the remaining mixture to create a light splatter on the card front.

I glued the greeting in place and stamped the additional “sending” above it ( and just a tiny bit crooked at that ) to create sending LOVE, and attached the butterfly in only the center of the butterfly so the wings could pop up to create movement.

Lastly I added a few gradient pearls and a touch of Cosmic Shimmer to add those final touches that make a card stand out.

Cosmic Shimmer is nothing short of magical in person, however it does like to hide from the camera. Needless to say the end result of this card is quite shimmery and beautiful!
