No one Stacks up to you…

Happy Pancake Tuesday!

This card was created in celebration of Pancake Tuesday - celebrated by many people around the world. Some celebrate the day to religious beliefs others just because any excuse to eat a big stack of pancakes is a great one!

This card started with a digital image from Not To Shabby. This place is one of my favorite places to hang out. They have a beautiful line of stamp products of their own as well as papers, stamps and so many other paper crafting products from other companies as well. Plus… an amazing line of digital stamps.

You all know how much I am loving digital stamps! They are easy to work with, I can make them whatever size I want, perfect for mixing and matching with other digital stamps or physical stamps, and the storage is the perfect size for any craft room!!!

So the card front started with Stack of Pancakes-N2S Digital Download. I’ve linked it so you can whip up your own stack of pancakes. I colored the image with copic markers. I also used Copics to create a bit of a countertop for the pancakes to sit on. We can’t have floating pancakes!

I used a drip stencil ( we talked about this stencil on the Bee Happy card ) to create the maple syrup. I blended the drip using a few different maple syrupy colors and added some gloss to make it really stand out.

I added gloss and glitter to the strawberry and blueberries. I love the extra shine and the texture the gloss adds.

I colored a fork to add to the napkin I made from a 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 square of patterned paper. I chose the red check for the napkin to pull that red over to the left side of the card. I simple folder the square diagonally and added a little foam tape to the inside outer edge to give it some dimension.

The sentiment “No one STACKS up to you” was one of the sentiments included in the purchase of the digital image. Yes, it comes with several fun pancake-y sentiments.

After lightly blending the air space with a blending brush and a little light blue ink it still looked rather “blah” on that one side of the card. I could have put the sentiment there, however I was really liking where I had placed it. So I found a tiny raindrop stamp in my stash and figured it would be perfect to carry that drippy maple syrup on down into my blank space.

I added gloss to those drops. Backed the card front onto a piece of cardstock close in color to the syrup and adhered it all to a card base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Scored @ 4 1/4.

And I had it… the perfect card for Pancake Day!
