Torn Layers Floral Card

Similar to peeling back flower petals this floral greeting card features torn paper layers that are ink blended and embossed, providing a background for these beautiful Hollyhock flowers, paired with one of my favorite uplifting sentiments “sending you a little bit of Happy” (Winnie Special Moments Quotes).

The first layer of this card starts with a blackberry colored piece of cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The layer is embossed with a vintage/worn typeset embossing folder to create interest and depth on the card.

The 2nd layer is ink blended over a background stencil with Seedless Preserves Oxide Ink onto random areas of the layer. This layer also had the sentiment printed on it, before beginning the ink blending process. Again, this layer is then torn around the edges and attached using foam tape lining up with the left side of the blackberry layer.

The last layer contains the flower sketch colored with Copic Markers and then torn around the edges of the flower. This layer is also added with foam tape to the left side of the other 2 layers.

The finished panels are then adhered to a card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11, Scored @ 5 1/2.

A few sparkling purple gems were added as a final touch.

I absolutely love the sentiment “Just sending you a little bit of happy today” - just perfect for sending on a card for many different occasions.
