Inspired By Nature- Masculine Card

It’s that time of year again in Ontario — the one where the trucks are packed, the flannel comes out of hibernation, and coffee tastes a little better when sipped from a thermos in the woods. Hunters across the province head north for their annual week of cabin life and tall tales. Deer and moose hunting season has officially begun!

Around here, that’s practically a holiday — part fresh air, part tradition, and entirely an excuse to live in wool socks for seven days straight. Cabin life, wood smoke in the air, and the yearly debate over who remembered to bring the bacon.

I decided to join the fun from the comfort of my craft desk with a rustic birthday card featuring a single, majestic moose surrounded by a few evergreen trees. Each piece was cut from white cardstock and brought to life with a bit of ink blending — soft browns and forest greens to capture that “fresh air and pine needles” feel. The vanilla-colored card base adds a touch of warmth, while a sprinkle of gold splatter gives it just enough shimmer to feel special — like the morning sun hitting frosted branches.

Of course, no good crafting session would be complete without a little plot twist. Just as I finished admiring my handiwork, I realized the die set I used has been discontinued.because of course it has! Apparently, the moose has officially migrated.

But don’t pack up your creative gear just yet. I’ve rounded up a few current alternatives that’ll help you recreate the same woodland charm without having to stalk the resale market like it’s trophy season.

What I actually used:

See? Crisis averted. A few good substitutes and we’re back in business — no hunting license required.

So, whether you’re crafting from your kitchen table or tucked away in a lakeside cabin, this quick and easy design is perfect for celebrating the outdoorsy folks in your life — or anyone who appreciates a good moose moment.

Here’s to hunting season — may your coffee be hot, your cardstock smooth, and your moose perfectly ink-blended.
