Get Yeti for a Snow-Day Birthday Card!
Honestly… if we’re stuck in “yet another snowstorm,” we might as well hang out with a cute, cupcake-holding Yeti who brings balloons and birthday vibes instead of shovels.
If winter insists on overstaying its welcome, I’m just going to lean into it… with paper, ink, and the most adorable Yeti I could possibly find. Since Ontario has decided we’re living in a permanent snow globe lately, I figured we might as well celebrate with a birthday card that says, “Enough snow all Yeti… let’s party instead!”
This little guy comes from the Simon Says Stamp Get Yeti stamp & Die set, and honestly, he makes winter a whole lot more tolerable. I mean… look at him. He’s holding a cupcake. If that doesn’t fix a bad snow day, nothing will.
For this card, I kept the layout super easy but still full of personality. The background layer is a fun (and now discontinued) snowflake pattern paper, which gives that chilly, wintery vibe without being too serious about it. On top of that, I added a panel cut from Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue Cardstock — and yes, I will happily shout from the snowy rooftops how much I love their cardstock. It’s smooth, sturdy, and ink blends like a dream. I lightly blended a bit of blue ink over it just to add a little extra depth and interest. Flat is fine… but blended flat is better :)
The layers are what really make this card pop. Using the Simon Says Stamp A2 Rectangle Dies, I stacked everything so it has that subtle “wow” factor when you pick it up. Layers add instant polish to even the simplest card — kind of like putting on a cozy scarf when you’re heading outside. Not strictly necessary… but way more fun.
The Yeti himself was stamped, colored with Copic markers, and then die cut. One of my favorite things about this stamp set is that the Yeti die has tiny little slits in his hands, which means he can hold all kinds of things — balloons, cupcakes, or anything else in the set. Today he’s multitasking: birthday balloon in one hand, cupcake in the other. Honestly, same.
The sentiment is also from the Get Yeti set and it might be one of my all-time favorite winter birthday greetings:
“Get Yeti to celebrate your birthday!”
It’s playful, punny, and exactly the kind of thing I’d want landing in my mailbox on a snowy day.
So if you’re snowed in, over winter, or just in need of a cheerful card that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this Yeti has you covered. He may live in the snow… but at least he brings dessert.
Stay warm, stay crafty, and remember — if we’re stuck with winter, we might as well make it cute.
