Back-to-School, But Make It Retro

Apparently, back-to-school season has arrived. Which seems slightly suspicious because I’m pretty sure summer started about twelve minutes ago.

But here we are—fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, new backpacks and that unmistakable feeling that September is lurking just around the corner. And since I can’t stop time, I decided I might as well make something cute to celebrate it.

Even better? I’m giving it away.

This little handmade back-to-school collection includes a retro notebook, matching beaded dangler and coordinating friendship bracelet—all bundled together into one very cheerful prize.

The Notebook

The star of the show is a handmade spiral notebook featuring a fun retro-inspired design with pink checkerboard, daisies, a big happy smiley face and just enough black-and-white to keep all that sweetness from getting too sweet.

It has that slightly groovy, slightly nostalgic vibe that seems to have found its way back into everything lately. Apparently what was old is new again—which I choose to believe means I’m not getting older. I’m becoming retro.

Much better.

The Dangler

Of course, a notebook cannot possibly head off into the world alone.

The coordinating handmade dangler brings together black, white, pink and yellow beads with a sweet little flower, checkerboard bead and bright yellow tassel. Clip it onto a backpack, pencil case, bag—or wherever you happen to need a little extra happy.

Because sometimes the difference between an ordinary Monday morning and a slightly more tolerable Monday morning is a cheerful dangler.

And coffee.

Mostly coffee.

The Bracelet

Finishing off the set is a handmade friendship-style bracelet created with coordinating heishi beads, smiley faces and letter beads spelling out SMILE.

A tiny wearable reminder that even when the alarm goes off far too early, your coffee hasn’t kicked in and someone has already forgotten their lunch on the kitchen counter…

Smile.
