A Little Sheep, A Baby Shower, and a Whole Lot of Fun

Sometimes the smallest handmade creations end up making the biggest impressions.

This adorable sheep keychain dangler was one of several handmade prizes I created for a recent baby shower. While guests were busy guessing baby facts, sharing stories, and competing in those classic baby shower games we've all played at one time or another, a collection of handmade keychain danglers waited on the prize table for the lucky winners.

This little sheep quickly became one of a favorite.

With his sweet smiling face, country-inspired black and white plaid beads, fluffy white accent bead, and playful tassel, he has all the charm of a cozy day on the farm. The addition of the delicate butterfly and flower charms adds just the right amount of whimsy, while the gold accents give the entire piece a polished finish.

One of the things I enjoy most about creating keychain danglers is combining different textures and materials. The smooth silicone beads, soft fluffy accent bead, metal charms, and tassel all work together to create something that's both fun and functional. Every bead and charm is chosen to help tell a little story, and this one definitely tells a story of country charm and cozy simplicity.

Of course, creating the keychains was only part of the fun. Watching guests choose their favourite prizes after winning a game was just as enjoyable. It reminded me that handmade gifts often become conversation pieces. People don't simply see a keychain—they see a tiny piece of creativity that someone took the time to design and assemble.

Speaking of baby shower games, who remembers all the classics? From guessing the baby's birth date to identifying melted candy bars in diapers (yes, that's still a thing!), baby showers have always found creative ways to keep guests entertained.

What's your favorite baby shower game? Are you a fan of the traditional games, or do you prefer some of the newer ideas that have appeared over the years?

This little sheep may have been created as a prize, but I have a feeling he would be just as happy hanging from a purse, backpack, diaper bag, or set of keys. Wherever he ends up, he's sure to bring a smile along with him.
