I often think of Greeting Cards like miniature stories...
Sending someone a cheerful story full of beautiful pictures and words.
So often... my card front will start the story with certain images and sentiments and when opening the card the recipient will find images that continue on the inside - sort of playing out the story.
The card above starts with bunnies making a snowball, a very large snowball, and the image depicts that these bunnies sure are having fun!
The sentiment reads "A carrot & some coal to make a winter friend"... however you don't see a carrot or coal - this creates intrigue!!
A 2nd sentiment seen thru a peekaboo window in the card front says " Just Add Snow", this is the page turner ( so to speak ), the recipient wants to know what happens next so they turn the page to reveal the inside of the card.
The inside of the card is filled with the same magical snowy background as the card front full of wintery splatter and snowflakes as well as the same " Just add snow" sentiment.
The story continued...
To reveal a bunny affixing a carrot nose to a freshly made snow bunny...
A winter friend!
This type of card is such a special way to send a fun seasonal greeting to someone in the upcoming months.
Most of my Christmas/Holiday cards will be done in a non traditional fashion this year, so you will be seeing many more of these type of cards coming.
With all of that story being told, I just want to say that the photos for this card absolutely do not do it justice, somehow the beauty of it just could not be captured.
It's so sparkly and wintery that you'll want to put mittens on to view it!
If you are interested in the process to create this card just send me a quick message or comment below and I'll add it to the list for an instructional or a video.
**The stamp set used for this card is not a Stampin' Up stamp set, however I can most certainly direct you to it.
I did use Stampin' Up cardstocks and inks.
As well as an array of other mediums for splatters and embellishments.
This type of card could certainly be made with a stamp set that you might already have or perhaps something from the new Mini Catalog would work.
I am however trying to work with products I already own and I had some great ideas for this stamp set that I needed to put on paper...
I hope you have enjoyed this card and that it has left you with some creative inspiration...
Happy Crafting...
