5 Minute Monday ~ Diagonal Note Card ~ Shaded Summer

Today's 5 Minute Monday is a beautiful fun fold note card... and also a day late. I apologize that the tutorial is late.
My mother has been dealing with some health issues that have kept her in the hospital as she awaits a room in a long term care home.  Between making the decision to begin with, meetings for that and trying to get her adjust to this HUGE change ~ life has been busy and stressful.
The support from the wonderful staff at the hospital certainly makes this adjustment a little easier on all of our parts.

I really wanted to thank the nurses and staff for their kindness and encouragement with a few Thank You notes, which brought about this 5 Minute Monday!

This card is quick, easy and absolutely lovely with a fun little twist! I chose to use Shaded Summer Dies to create this card.

Since Sale a-bration has ended choosing an image and designer paper was difficult since many products are no longer available. Summer Shadow dies are always sure to create a beautiful card, and I paired it with Country Gingham designer paper.

You can use any focal image you choose.
 So, On with the tutorial...

Supplies:

Measurements:

Cardstock ~ 4 1/4 x 12
Scored @ 4, 8 (on the longside)

*** If you don't have 12 inch cardstock, here's an easy fix!
Cardstock ~ 4 1/4 x 8 1/2
Score @ 4, 8
Cardstock ~ 4 1/4 x 4
Attach these 2 sections using the 1/2 tab to create a 12 inch strip.

Designer Paper ~ 3 1/2 x 3 3/4

Cardstock ( coordinating ) ~ 2 5/8 x 2 5/8

Basic White Cardstock ~ 4 x 3 3/4 (card inside)
Square ~ 2 3/8 x 2 3/8

Scraps of Blushing Bride & Granny Apple Green for the flowers and leaves.

Instructions:

Cut & Score card pieces.

Cut both ends of the 12 inch cardstock base on a diagonal using your trimmer.  Each end would be the opposite diagonal.

Cut the Designer Series Paper on a diagonal.

Attach the diagonal designer paper sections to the matching sections of the card front.

Blend a little Blushing Bride ink on Basic White Square as pictured, and stamp the desired sentiment on the bottom left of the square.

Mat this layer onto the Blushing Bride square.
Cut the desired flower using the Shaded Summer dies and a few leaf pieces.
Attach the flower using dimensional pieces over top the ink blended space on the white layer.
Using glue attach the leaves in the desired places tucked under the flower ( you may need to snip some of the leaves off to achieve this look ).

Apply adhesive to a diagonal section on the back of this layer depending on which section of the card front you would like to attach to. Remember to only apply adhesive to 1 diagonal of the square to avoid any glue sticking where you don't want it.

Add a few gems or rhinestones to the card front for added interest.
Attach the inside panel.
I left the inside blank so I would write a personal note, you could stamp it with a greeting or sentiment of your choice.

In this example I again used the Shaded Summer Dies, however I chose a different flower.  The Card was created using Rich Razzleberry cardstock, and Awash in Beauty designer paper.

No matter which version you choose the card turns out beautiful!

I hope you enjoy today's 5 Minute Monday and that it leaves you with some creative inspiration.
