Today's 5 Minute Monday ... literally was created in 5 minutes!
I was working on a series of cards for this week and time got away with me and suddenly I thought "it's Monday" ~
I wanted to be able to share one more quick attempt at a Valentine before the big day tomorrow, however this card has the versatility to be for any occasion really.
Just change the sentiment to Birthday or that that applies.
I had some paper out for another project with some local ladies where we use all of our designer paper, even if it's retired. This retired "True Love" paper caught my eye!!
I cut the black outlined image of the flowers right out of a sheet of the True Love designer paper. Maybe you still have some of this retired paper, maybe you have some paper similar to it, maybe you don't.
If you don't ~ you can stamp the outline of a flower or bouquet of flowers image that you do have. Just be sure to give the black ink time to dry.
This card used a Basic Black card base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/5
Scored @ 4 1/4
A piece of designer paper ( black coordinated ) - 5 1/2 x 2 3/4
You will need a flower image cut from paper, blending brushes, real red ink, cherry cobbler ink, and Old Olive ink.
Some pearls or gems for a little added sparkle.
Instructions:
Using a blending brush and some real red ink lightly blend the ink onto the center of the flowers and beyond. You don't need to fully cover the image.
Blend some Cherry Cobbler Ink just into the very centers of the flowers for some color variation.
Using the Old Olive just blend a bit of ink onto the leaves.
Cut & Score the card base. Add the piece of designer paper to the card left side of the card front.
Using dimensionals add the flower to the card front.
Using a scrap of Basic White Cardstock stamp the "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting. I used the one from Country Bouquet stamp set.
Add a few Basic Pearls to the card front and a little Wink of Stella to the flowers.
Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4 x 5 1/4
Stamp a loving sentiment on this layer for the card inside.
Attach to the inside.
Use some matching designer paper on the envelope flap to dress up the envelope.
If this sounds complicated, it's not! It honestly works up in just a few minutes.
I was actually quite surprised that it passed my inspection for 5 Minute Monday!
I hope you enjoyed today's card. I hope it motivates you to make a Valentine, Birthday, or a just because card for someone special.
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day and remember to just love yourself for the amazing person that you are!!
