Is this card to cute or what?!!?
I've used this tent card layout several times in the past to create a 3D looking scene on a card front.
The card layout is really quite simple, however the fussy cutting of images and placing everything just right can be a little time consuming ~ yet worth it!
For this card example I used the Adorable Owls stamp set which is Free with a $60 (CAD) purchase during Sale a-bration. The designer paper is Happy Forest Friends.
So... let's get to some measurements so you can get started to create this card. If you don't have the Adorable Owls ~ use this card as inspiration to create a beautiful card with the supplies that you do have!
Card Cutting Measurements
Card base ~ 4 1/4 x 11
Scored @ 5 1/2
4 1/4 x 3
Scored @ 3/4, 1 1/2, 2 1/4
DSP - 4 x 5 1/4 (background scene layer)
DSP 2 ~ 4 x 5 1/4 (for card front)
Basic white scrap for stamping a Greeting and the desired images.
Cut & Score Card Pieces.
Attach the designated designer paper layer to the card front.
Using a rectangle die cut ~ cut a rectangle from the center of the card front.
Crease the score lines of the smaller piece of card stock to form a "W" type looking piece. Keeping the upright "W" shape attach to the inside of the card to serve as a spring type device to the inside of the card base. *** Don't attach this mechanism to the front of the card yet.
Attach the designer paper background layer to the inside of the card base (covering where the "W" mechanism was attached). Now attach the rest of the "W" mechanism to the back of the card front.
Attach any images to the front of the inside of the card, using. Using dimensionals will give the card lots of interest.
Attach any desired images to the card front.
So this is where I stamped and fussy cut the owls, a branch from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set, and fussy cut a few little mushrooms and shrubbery from the Forest Friends paper.
I stamped the "Hoot Hoot" from the Adorable Owls stamp set.
And the "Happy Birthday" from the "Best Day" stamp set.
It's perfect for any birthdays!
Anywho... I hope you enjoy this card and that it leaves you with some creative inspiration.
