Here's a quick & easy Christmas card, that would have been this week's 5 Minute Monday.
However, on Monday I was at Chemo with my daughter in law and there is no where else I would have been.
Now if I were completely organized with the many things I juggle on a daily basis ~ I would have already had the post prepared for this card when Monday came, but that is so not me... I am always just flying by the seat of my pants these days.
Therefor.. it's 5 Minute Tuesday this week!
When I thought about today's card, I knew it was going to be a quick and easy card ( since that's what 5 Minute Monday entails) yet I wanted it to be different than just pretty paper or die cuts. So I thought "simple stamping". I realized that over the years I have been using so many beautiful papers and dies that I forgot my original roots when creating cards, which was simply stamping.
So our card today involves only the "Trees for Sale" stamp set. When it was released in the holiday catalogue a lot of hype went with it due to its nicely paired dies that were available as a Sale abration promo, which really took the spotlight away from the stamp set itself.
This card started with a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White Cardstock. I have some sections of sticky notes that I created at the beginning of the season that I use to make a mask to create snowy layers. I've used the same ones all season. Those sticky notes are really durable!
Using the sticky note masks I blended with some Pool Party Ink to create the illusion of snowy layers on the bottom of my piece of cardstock.
I brushed a little Wink of Stella over the billows of snow. It's really hard to see in the photo but looks outstanding in person.
From there I stamped several of the images from the stamp set onto the card front to create a little scene.
Added a few little rhinestones to the string of lights.
Stamped the Greeting and layered it on a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 (Scored @ 4 1/4) Real Red Card Base.
This literally all only took 5 Minutes!!
It really only took 5 Minutes!!

For the card inside, I repeated the blending of the snow on the bottom of the inside panel ( 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White ), stamped a tree, stamped another tree without reinking. I used that same process for the trees on the front. Then just added a lovely sentiment from Framed and Festive Stamp Set.
I really enjoyed making this card, and I hope you do to! It reminded me how lovely a card can be using only a simple stamping technique.
So pull out your favorite stamp set, or maybe one you have overlooked, and just get creative with only the stamps and ink. I think you'll amaze yourself!
