Summer is fading fast...
I've noticed a few leaves changing to a beautiful Merlot color, daylight is getting shorter each day, and the squirrels are starting to store food for winter.
Today's card features a grey squirrel scurrying up a branch to stash his treasure of an acorn.
It's quick and easy to create. If you have all of the materials gathered and ready to go it meets our 5 Minute Monday requirements, and if it takes longer... that's acceptable to!
Here is a list of required materials for today's card:
Real Red Cardstock ~ 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
Scored @ 4 1/4
Smoky Slate Cardstock ~ 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper ~ 4 x 5 1/4
Basic White Scalloped Rectangle ( 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 )
Basic White ~ 4 x 5 1/4 ( card inside )
Scraps of Real Red Cardstock ( for leaves )
Bakers Twine ( dollar store twine as I needed black & white )
Instructions:
Cut & Score Card Pieces.
Attach the Gingham Cottage Designer Paper Layer to the Basic Grey Layer.
Wrap the Bakers Twine around this layer 2 or 3 times and attach in a bow to the right side of the layer.
Attach this layer using dimensionals to the Real Red card front.
On the Basic White Rectangle stamp: a branch closer to the bottom and then stamp the desired greeting in Black Memento Ink.
Stamp the squirrel using Black Memento Ink on the branch. Using Basic Grey Ink ~ stamp off , then stamp the fill in for the squirrel outline. *** Stamping off gave a beautiful grey color to the squirrel.
Stamp the bottom of the acorn in crumb cake Ink, and the top of the acorn in Soft Suede Ink.
Stamp & cut a few leaves using Real Red Ink.
** I used a retired punch for the oak leaf.
Add a few of the red Festive Pearls to the card front for added interest.
Attach dimensionals to the back of this rectangle layer and attach to the card front.
Stamp desired greeting or images on the card inside and attach.
Stamp a coordinating envelope, and this card is ready to giving!
***This card has a matching treat box that we can tutorial on a different day.
I made 2 other examples of this card π
This one features the Pumpkin from Hello Harvest Bundle & Rustic Harvest Designer paper, which is beautiful paper!
This one again has a pumpkin from the Hello Harvest Stamp set, that I colored with Stampin' Blends markers. Gingham Cottage Designer Paper, Evening Evergreen Card base and a soft succulent layer under the designer paper gives a Farmhouse feel.
