Some gorgeous cards created using the Shades of Summer Stamp set and dies, with a stenciled background.
Let's talk "Shaded Summer"... This stamp set was around last year, and in fact had a matching set of "Summer Shadows" dies that became available during a Sale a-bration event.
I was so happy to see that this stamp set as well as the dies, made it to the New Annual Catalogue. This means they will be around for at least another year!
Which was a great discovery, since I had hardly even used them.
I was just so busy with other "popular" stamp sets that Shaded Summer seem to have gotten overlooked.
I think this was true for many as I haven't really seen a lot of cards floating around created with them.
I love that they have been given a second life, so to speak!
When given the opportunity to sit down and actually play with them, it became clear they just had so many possibilites.
The flower stamps are simple and elegant. The greetings and sentiments are great. The dies simply add so many possibilities when creating cards.
You can go simple and easy and just stamp a section of the flowers on a card front with a greeting, and it's going to be beautiful.
Or... you can full on stencil a beautiful background, add some vellum, and die cut flowers from the set to take the card to spectacular.
To create birthday cards, I simply just borrowed from other stamp sets.
Continue the stenciling to the inside of the card for even more interest and beauty. Why not?! You've got the supplies out already!
I hope these cards have given you a little inspiration to give background blending a try, or maybe even to give the Shaded Summer stamps and Summer Shadows dies a try!
