Today's card is ( as usual ) quick, easy & beautiful!
It features the Oceanfront stamp set, and is the first in a few cards that we will create in the coming weeks.
I chose to feature Oceanfront since it's the beginning of summer here and I keep hoping for nice warm weather.
Sunny, waterfront days are days we look forward to here in Eastern Ontario, where our weather can be very cold and wet for the most part of the year.
The Oceanfront stamp set mocks a watercolor effect, and though it looks like it would only really create the one scene, that would be wrong.
Just think outside the box!
Here are the stamps included in the set. You can see the stamps that create the the sky, the water, and the sand. Also included are some sea grass, and water weed type images, as well as a few boulder or rock images. Oh and don't forget that little blotch of sandy dots.
So we look at the set as only creating what it appears the stamp set is made to create, a water front scene.
Imagine all the different waterfront scenes ~ sun up, sun down, stormy seas, or sunny mid day. The scene is determined by the colors used to stamp the water color sections.
These stamp sets are perfect to pair with other scene building stamp sets, or perhaps just another stamp set since Oceanfront doesn't come with any words. It can be paired with any other greetings or sentiments that you may have.
I chose to keep today's card quite basic since it's 5 Minute Monday ~ and that means the card can be created in basically 5 minutes.
So today's tutorial is only to show how quickly a beautiful card can be created with this set.
Imagine the possibilities if you have 10 minutes?? π
We'll see some examples of that coming in June!
So, lets get to it!

Cut & score card pieces.
On the smaller Basic White layer, using the larger watercolor stamp and Balmy Blue ink, stamp the sky towards the top edge of this layer.
Stamp the medium sized watercolor stamp using Misty Moonlight, overlapping the sky but just a little to create the line of horizon.
With Crumb Cake ink stamp the smaller section of watercolor stamp section stamp off on a piece of scrap paper. Then stamp the beachy section onto the card front layer, overlapping slightly.
Using the sand blotch image and Crumb Cake ink , stamp randomly over the beachy section to create a sandy looking area.
Stamp a few of the sea grass or water weeds onto the sand area.
Stamp a greeting on the bottom section of this same layer.
Brush a little Wink of Stella over the water area. It's hard to see this in the picture, but it really adds a little "wow" to the card.
Attach the Designer Series Paper layer to the card base in a diagonal fashion.
Using dimensionals, adhere the stamped panel to the front of the card in the opposite diagonal slant.
Add a few rhinestones to give the card a bit of bling.
Stamp desired graphics and sentiment on the inside card panel and attach to the inside of the card.
Have some fun, try this same layout using other ink colors and designer series papers.
Be sure to check back for additional "summer" themed cards.
I hope enjoyed today's 5 Minute Monday!
