Five Minute Monday Tutorial ~ Sunflowers

 5 Minute Monday ~ Sunflowers

This weeks' 5 Minute Monday uses the "Celebrate Sunflowers" bundle that is currently on sale for the Savings in Bloom Sale. You can find the details for Savings in Bloom under the Sales at the top of this page. The Stampin Cut & Emboss machine is also included in this sale. It is perfect for die sets just like this one, it's compact, light and doesn't take up very much room at all. The current price makes it extremely affordable for a die cutting machine. Card making and scrapbooking have never been so easy!

All right ... on with the today's card!
I love sunflowers! They are warm and welcoming on any day of the year!
This card is so easy... you'll want to make it over and over again in many colors, using many designer papers.

Card Measurements & Instructions:

Card stock: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Scored @ 4 1/4
3 3/4 x 3 3/4
Scrap for the Sentiment

DSP: 5 1/4 x 4
Basic White: 5 1/4 x 4 ( card inside )

Ribbon
Rhinestones or gems for bling

Cut & score the card pieces as above. Run ribbon around the DSP layer and tie a bow or knot, fasten to DSP layer.
Attach DSP to the front of the card base.
Using the large Sunflower ( the one that cuts the sunflower and details ), and the tiny flower center die cuts from the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle align it up in the center of the square piece of card stock.
Run it though the die cut machine. You will have the square with the outline of the sunflower, as well as the detailed sunflower frame.
Apply dimensionals to the square ( negative ) from the die cut, and adhere to the top section of the card front.
Carefully apply liquid glue to the detailed sunflower die cut and position it to fit inside the square frame on the card front.
Using a dimensional attach the small flower center in the middle of the sunflower.
I heat embossed the "Happy Birthday" greeting on the the scrap of cardstock and attached to card front. If you are familiar with heat embossing you can do that for your greeting, if not ( that is a lesson for another day )then stamp the greeting using the ink of your choice on a scrap of white card stock.
Stamp whatever you choose on the inside of your card. Decorate your envelope to coordinate.
Don't forget to add some rhinestones or gems to your card front for bling!
And, just like that...

A beautiful card to send to someone you love!

$62.75      $70.00

$15.75

You could use pretty much any patterned paper for this card. I found the plaids matched well with the sunflowers.
Here is another card I created using the same layout with different colors and a different plaid designer paper.
