Cube Card Technique ~ Very Fun Fold
1. Cut a piece of thick cardstock to 8" x 8 1/4".
2. Place the 8 1/4" at the top of score board and score
at 2", 4", 6", and 8".
3. Now turn your cardstock so that the 8" side is at
the top and cut at 2" and move it over and at 2" again. You should
now have 2 pieces that are 2" x 8 1/4" and 1 piece that is 4" x
8 1/4".
4. You can now add
DSP to the areas you want. The cube sides would be 1 15/16" x 1
15/16" (that is the little mark on your ruler, just before the 2"
mark ). The larger piece of DSP would be 1 15/16" x 3 15/16". (You
can also add your DSP after the cube card is put together. Whatever works best
for you).
5. You can see in my picture how I did mine as I didn't put
DSP on the inside of the cubes but that is entirely up to you.
6. Put your glue on the 1/4" edge of each of the cubes.
You should have two small cubes and one large rectangle.
7. Place the glued rectangle in front of you so that you
have one edge pointing towards you.
8. Place the two
smaller cubes on each side of the bigger one and glue to the big one. Look at
the picture of my card to see how to put them together.
9. The rest of the decorating is up to you.
10. If you want to make the sentiment stand out or, in my
case the polar bear, then you need to make four little pieces that are 1
1/2" x 3/4" and fold them in half. You will need two for the polar
bear and two for the sentiment.
Looking at the
picture again, adhere one on each side of the fold where you’ll add the bear or
the sentiment. Then glue your sentiment and bear to them.
NOTE: THIS CARD FOLDS
FLAT FOR MAILING SO ALWAYS CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN CLOSE IT! This card will
fit in the Basic White medium or clear envelopes. If you do the polar bear one,
add some coloured battery-operated tea lights on the inside for the Northern
Lights effect.
This is a great card with a real WOW! factor. Enjoy and let
your imagination soar!
